Project description

The Customer is an innovative company in the delivery and logistics market. It focuses on last-mile delivery (from customs, airports, warehouses, etc.) and provides service for logistics companies and couriers. The Customer is presented in 150+ cities in 5 EU countries and the UK. The role of the Data Scientist focuses on tackling classical machine learning (ML) problems as well as operational research challenges to improve dispatching, incentive strategies, and overall logistics efficiency. 

Technical stack

  • Programming Languages: Python or Scala;
  • Machine Learning & Optimization: Advanced ML models, Optimization algorithms;
  • Infrastructure & Data Processing: SQL, Airflow, Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink, Hadoop;
  • Deployment & DevOps: Docker, Distributed Computing.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Data Science;
  • Python proficiency;
  • Experience in SQL;
  • Strong ML & optimization skills;
  • Statistical inference knowledge.

 

Will be a plus:

  • Workflow management (Airflow);
  • Distributed computing;
  • Event-driven architectures;
  • Docker, Apache Spark, and logistics domain expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Optimizing delivery networks in real-time;
  • Balancing speed, efficiency, and cost in dispatch and incentive models;
  • Ensuring ML and optimization models work effectively at scale;
  • Handling high-volume event-driven architecture.
