Mobile application dedicated to life-saving emergency

Business purpose

Our customer is a European company, specializing in medical service. The goal of the project was to develop a mobile app which will help to prevent deaths from heart failures.

Our customer is an European company, specializing in medical service. The goal of the project was to develop a mobile app which will help to prevent deaths from heart failures.

It is a smartphone application allowing nearby volunteer citizens to go and help a victim. The app is certified by learned societies of emergency medicine, by the Red Cross.

The application aims to:

  • Involve citizens at the request of the SAMU in the event of cardiac arrest or serious hemorrhage. One of the unique points of this application is the interaction between the UAS and the citizens.
  • Allow you to contact the SAMU quickly, and establish the geolocation in the event that you witness a cardiac arrest so that they can call in the organized rescue services but also other citizens in the vicinity.

IT staffing

While development of the application versions both for iOS and Android the following functionality was implemented:

USER PROFILE

Users download the application and create a profile, adding information if they are medical professionals (a doctor, a nurse...) or not.

GEOLOCATION

When a heart failure incident is declared, the app scans the list of users to send an alarm to the closest one. This user has the choice to accept the alert or not. If he accepts, a GPS itinerary is automatically displayed on the rescuer screen. It leads the user to the closest defibrillator first, and then to the location of the heart failure incident. If there's no defibrillator nearby, the user is led directly to the person suffering from the heart attack.

MEDIAS

The app provides a series of videos with first-aid instructions to help the rescuer until Emergency Medical Service arrival.

Also, the app contains some additional features, such as the possibility to add profile pictures, earn and give rating points, have a chat between users and manually add new defibrillator locations to make the app more useful.
