Braincube Migration to AWS
Braincube is a leading provider of digital solutions for the industrial sector. Their IoT platform collects, structures, and analyzes production data to optimize factory performance. The platform was already running in production on Microsoft Azure, but Braincube aimed to migrate to AWS to benefit from cost optimization, cloud-native scalability, modernization opportunities, and better long-term support.
Migration Objectives
The goal was to transition existing applications from Azure to AWS, implement a new Landing Zone, and adapt DevOps processes for the AWS ecosystem. As part of the engagement, Noveo also designed and deployed a secure, scalable, and highly available network infrastructure on AWS as a proof of concept, followed by a production-ready environment.
Data and configuration migration remained the responsibility of the customer’s technical team, while Noveo provided the migration plan, documentation, and expert guidance. The project also required enablement of Braincube’s engineers, cost optimization recommendations, and improvements in security, reliability, and performance.
Challenges
Braincube needed to modernize its infrastructure, consolidate workloads, and reduce operating costs while ensuring higher reliability and security. Legacy systems had become increasingly difficult to maintain, limiting scalability and slowing down innovation.
Solution
Noveo delivered a modern cloud-native platform on AWS, centered around Amazon EKS and supported by automated disaster recovery. A GitOps approach with Flux CD and modular Terraform templates enabled fully automated, secure, and scalable infrastructure.
Key aspects included:
- Implementation of AWS best practices for scalability, security, and reliability.
- Automated disaster recovery with Velero across multiple regions.
- Reusable Terraform modules for rapid environment provisioning.
- GitOps pipelines with Flux CD to simplify application deployment and operations.
Technologies
AWS (EKS, VPC, S3, EFS, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch)
Monitoring & Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alertmanager
DevOps: Flux CD, Azure DevOps, Helm, Terraform, Kustomize
Disaster Recovery: Velero (multi-region backup & recovery)
Process
Over two months, the project team — consisting of a Project Manager, Solutions Architect, and two DevOps engineers — designed the target architecture, built reusable Terraform modules, and migrated workloads step by step. To ensure long-term autonomy, Noveo conducted workshops and trained Braincube’s engineers, who were able to independently deploy their own environment using the delivered modules.
Results
Braincube now operates on a modern, secure, and cost-optimized AWS platform. The migration improved scalability, resilience, and supportability while lowering total cost of ownership. The customer can easily expand and innovate — confident that their infrastructure is future-ready.
