Project description

The project is for a European MedTech product company developing a remote monitoring platform for patients with wearable cardiac devices.

The team is responsible for the platform that ingests and processes medical data from a large number of external sources. As a Backend / Data Platform Engineer, you will build backend services, ETL pipelines, and distributed workflows for large-scale data processing, with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.

Requirements

  • Good English communication skills.
  • 5+ years of commercial backend development experience.
  • Strong TypeScript skills.
  • Commercial experience developing backend applications with Node.js and NestJS.
  • Experience building ETL or data processing pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Temporal, Dagster, and Kafka.
  • Strong SQL skills and practical experience with PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and/or MongoDB.
  • Experience designing microservices and integrating external APIs.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Daily use of AI-assisted development tools (such as Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, or similar).

 

Nice to have

  • Python.
  • Spark.
  • AWS.
  • TDD.
  • Avro, Parquet, Protobuf.
  • Experience in MedTech.
  • Knowledge of OWASP Top 10.

Responsibilities

  • Build workflow-based applications using Temporal.
  • Develop backend services with TypeScript and NestJS.
  • Design and optimize ETL pipelines.
  • Integrate with external APIs and data sources.
  • Optimize PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and MongoDB.
  • Develop and maintain microservices.
  • Work with AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
