Project description
Our partner is a digital MedTech company delivering exceptional innovations to cardiologists through Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. Their leading cardiac remote monitoring platform simplifies data management and enhances the prediction of patient issues, enabling cardiologists to provide optimal care at the right moments.
They have a connected medical device program that is currently scaling up: a new production batch is scheduled for this fall, with a growing installed base across Europe and the US. Additionally, a new fleet management platform is under development. The team is being assembled now — a dedicated Technical Product Manager is already in place, a junior engineer based in Paris begins mid-July, and a senior engineer is joining in October to lead the platform’s evolution.
The project involves industrializing the product—reviewing current processes and implementing AI-first workflows, working alongside the junior engineer in Paris and in close collaboration with the field teams in the US.
Technical stack:
- Languages: TypeScript (primary);
- Frontend: Angular, SASS;
- Backend: Node.js (NestJS), REST APIs, RabbitMQ;
- Databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MariaDB;
- Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI;
- Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog;
- Testing: Jest, Playwright;
- Domain: connected medical devices, regulated healthcare environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years fullstack JavaScript/TypeScript experience — strong TypeScript with Angular on the frontend and Node.js (NestJS preferred) on the backend.
- Proven experience designing and consuming REST APIs; familiarity with message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka) for asynchronous processing and data pipelines.
- Comfortable operating production systems: monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog or similar), troubleshooting in a high-reliability environment.
- Solid testing culture (Jest, Playwright — unit, integration, E2E) and secure development practices (OWASP Top 10).
- AI fluency: you’re an AI-first adopter — you use tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot extensively in your daily engineering workflow, and have opinions on how AI should reshape development and operations processes.
- Experience with device connectivity / server-side IoT (data ingestion, fleet management, device protocols) is a plus.
- Network skills in a regulated environment are a plus.
- Autonomous and able to onboard quickly — contractor context, structured onboarding provided.
- English required (strong B2 or higher).
- Experience in medical/regulated environments (HIPAA, GDPR, medical device regulations) is a plus.
- Location: Latin America.
Responsibilities
- Industrialize the product — review current processes and put AI-first processes in place across the product, working with the junior engineer in Paris and in collaboration with the US field teams.
- Fullstack JavaScript — build the product features of the platform: fleet management, device transfers, fleet detail and monitoring views (frontend + backend).
- IoT end-to-end operations — collaborate with manufacturing and logistics to ensure smooth end-to-end IoT operations.
- US rollouts & monitoring — be present for customer rollouts during US hours; ensure monitoring and timely, quality delivery of existing and new formats.
- GenAI / agentic — contribute to the agentic evolution of the platform (ramping up from October with the senior engineer).
